Having struggled through the depressing rain and darkness of many British winters; training and commuting in all weathers, the Boardman team know a thing or two about what makes a great winter bike. The ASR range is a product of all those soggy miles worth of knowledge. We set out to design the perfect bike for riding in all weathers, and we believe that’s what we’ve achieved.
Combining the classic smooth ride quality of a steel frame with up to date features such as disc brakes, clearance for up to 32mm tyres and subtle reflective decals by day, which pop under car headlights at night, the ASR range is capable of taking on anything the seasons can throw at you. With mudguards fitted as standard and rack mounts, the bikes are perfectly equipped for training or commuting duties.
We’ve also tailored the geometry of the ASR range to suit long miles in slippery conditions. Taking learning from our award winning MTB and Hybrids, we’ve used a taller head tube, a longer top tube, and a slacker head angle vs our SLR Endurance frames. Combined with a shorter stem than standard on a road bike, the ASR offers increased stability, comfort and control for big days out in the saddle, or dealing with treacherous roads when the rain comes down or the mercury plummets.
