The
ADV 8.6W has been designed with maximum versatility in mind. Exploring beyond paved roads, the rigours of commuting, or a more comfortable ride on broken tarmac – the ADV 8.6 can cover it all.
At the heart of the bike is a triple-butted X7 aluminium frame and carbon fork designed for a stable and confidence-inspiring ride, with an oversized downtube and tapered headtube ensuring precise handling and strength to handle rougher riding. Schwalbe’s grippy and fast-rolling G-One tyres deliver on comfort and control too. They're tubeless-ready so an upgrade kit is all you need to ditch the inner tubes.
On rough surfaces and unexplored trails, a low range of gears is important to keep you moving, and the ADV 8.6’s 48/32 chainset, with a 11-34 cassette gives a lower than 1:1 bottom gear, helping to tame steep hills. Having confidence in your brakes also helps you push on heading downhill, and Tektro disc brakes give powerful and easily controlled stopping. A flared handlebar adds a final extra element of control, with a wider position in the drops, keeping things stable as you head off-road. Like all our women's bikes, the ADV 8.6W is designed with contact points tailored to suit female riders - a female-specific saddle, narrower bars and shorter stems to give a comfortable fit.
The ADV 8.6 isn’t just great for heading out beyond the beaten track though – it also is a great option for extra comfort and control on the road too. With mounts and clearance for mudguards around the fast-rolling but grippy tyres, and mounts for a pannier rack, it’s ideal for all-round road duties too, safe in the knowledge that you can duck off down that enticing bridleway you’ve always wanted to check out if you get the urge.
